Epithelium: stratified cuboidal
Organ: submaxilar salivary gland, excretory duct.
Species: mouse (Mus musculus; mammals).
Technique: 8 µm paraffin sections, stained with haematoxylin.

Stratified cuboidal epithelium is made up of two o three layers of cells (see also figure 1). The most superficial layer contains cells showing cuboidal shape and round nucleus, which is located in the basal part of the cell. This type of epithelium is not frequent. It can be found in the final part of the excretory duct of large glands.
